Shareing & Careing is partnering with God's Love We Deliver to bring you a
nutritional series. Eat Healthy! Stay Well!
The goal of this program is to provide cancer patients and
cancer survivors with the most up-to-date information on nutrition to promote
health and wellness. Further, participants will learn to assess their own
eating and activity behaviors, pinpoint areas that they want to change, and
begin to alter their behavior. While the program will be in a group setting,
the emphasis is on each person setting individual goals, within a supportive
environment.
Session 1: Jumping Right In
This first session sets the tone of the program with a look
at general principles of a healthful diet that reduce risk for cancer and
recurrence. The emphasis will be on plant-based foods, whole foods and balance
among the food groups. Participants will be able to immediately start planning
more healthful meals. During the session, the group will practice writing a
food diary and set goals for the next session.
